Park Hyatt Riviera Maya will open on Jan. 8, 2027, between Cancun and Puerto Morelos as the luxury brand’s first all-inclusive resort. It will combine Park Hyatt’s conventional hotel approach with a stay covering food, drinks and much of the on-property experience.
How Park Hyatt Riviera Maya is designed
The property will comprise 148 rooms and suites, giving it a relatively small footprint compared with many all-inclusive resorts on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. Select categories will offer plunge pools or private pools, including accommodations with ocean views.
The largest option will be a penthouse measuring about 214 square metres (2,300 square feet). Several categories will also feature private balconies, soaking tubs and outdoor living areas.
Contemporary Mexican design will run through the resort, alongside regional craftwork and a curated art collection. The hotel sits within AMAI, a private enclave surrounded by mangroves and tropical vegetation.
Dining will favour à la carte restaurants
Seven restaurant and bar concepts are planned, with more emphasis on made-to-order dining than the buffet-led format traditionally associated with all-inclusive hotels.
IK’AL, a beachfront restaurant, will serve seafood and dishes drawing on local ingredients and Yucatecan flavours. Its drinks list will include tropical cocktails and wines by the glass.
The wider programme will combine Mexican cooking with international influences. Plans also include a coffee venue focused on Mexican beans, a cocktail bar called The Botanist, premium spirits and a wine programme led by a sommelier.
A beachfront pool anchors the resort facilities
A large pool facing the Caribbean will provide private cabanas and several outdoor lounging areas near the beach.
Nayade Spa and Wellness will have treatment rooms and an open-air spa garden. Guests will also have access to a full fitness centre, while preferred privileges at the nearby El Tinto Golf Course will provide an off-property golf option.
The location supports reef and inland day trips
The setting near Puerto Morelos puts the National Reef Park of Puerto Morelos about 11 kilometres away (just over seven miles), making snorkelling and diving practical excursion options.
Puerto Morelos offers a quieter base than the Mexican Caribbean’s larger hotel zones, with a small-town centre and a longstanding fishing tradition. Cancun International Airport also remains within reach from the resort’s location.
For longer outings, the Tulum Archaeological Zone is about 103 kilometres away (64 miles). Valladolid, an inland Yucatan city that can be combined with visits to cenotes, is roughly 145 kilometres from the property (90 miles).

Hyatt is accepting reservations now, and the scheduled debut falls during the winter period when the Riviera Maya typically draws strong demand from the United States and Canada.
Travellers seeking an in-room pool should check the accommodation category carefully before booking, since that feature is limited to selected rooms and suites. For early stays, guests should also confirm the hotel’s opening status and their rate conditions before making non-refundable travel arrangements.
