Motto by Hilton Guadalajara is now open with 154 rooms in the city’s historic center. The property gives visitors a new base near major landmarks while expanding Hilton’s lifestyle hotel presence in Mexico.
Grupo Megaterra owns and developed the hotel, which is the second Motto property in the country. It also joins Hilton’s portfolio of more than 300 hotels welcoming guests across the Caribbean and Latin America.
A walkable location near Guadalajara landmarks
The hotel stands one block from Plaza Fundadores, the site associated with Guadalajara’s founding.
Guests can walk from the property to Teatro Degollado, Guadalajara Cathedral, San Juan Market and Instituto Cultural Cabañas. The location suits travellers who want to explore the historic center without relying on transport for every visit.
A 1950s apartment building begins a new chapter
The hotel occupies a restored residential building designed by Agustín Acevedo during the 1950s.
The structure is an example of functionalist Art Deco architecture, combining the period’s geometric style with a practical approach to design. Its conversion retains an existing downtown building while giving it a new use as a hotel.

The 154 rooms include multifunctional furniture and options designed for families and groups travelling together.
The property has 69 connecting rooms and uses Hilton’s Confirmed Connecting Room technology. Up to three rooms can be linked, giving larger parties more space while keeping their accommodation together.
Mexican food and coffee anchor the public spaces
Two food and drink venues provide full-service dining, coffee and baked goods within the hotel.
La BienQuerida draws on the traditions of Mexican cantinas, serving locally inspired dishes and drinks. Doña Elvira operates as a café focused on artisanal coffee and traditional Mexican breads.
What the opening changes for travellers
Visitors now have another hotel option within walking distance of Guadalajara’s central cultural and historic attractions.
The property participates in Hilton Honors. Members who reserve through Hilton’s direct channels can use points-and-money booking options, receive member discounts and access standard Wi-Fi.
The Hilton Honors app also supports check-in, room selection and digital room access. Groups should consider the connecting-room choices when comparing accommodation, while loyalty members will need to book directly to receive the listed Honors benefits.
The opening forms part of Hilton’s wider regional expansion. The company says more than 150 additional properties are in various stages of development across the Caribbean and Latin America.
