The Montego Bay resort JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar will reopen on Dec. 1, 2026, after a six-month renovation covering its 295 suites, restaurants, pools and beach areas. The overhaul changes most guest areas while preserving the adults-only all-inclusive format and selected premium services.
The former Iberostar Grand has joined the JOIA collection
The property is the former Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, now placed in Iberostar’s upper-tier JOIA collection. It remains one of three Iberostar hotels in a shared beachfront complex east of central Montego Bay.
Design references will include Jamaican colours, local plants and the island’s creative traditions. Iberostar is also drawing on the style of travel during the 1950s and the character of Montego Bay.
The hotel will continue to admit guests aged 18 and over. This distinguishes it from the two neighbouring Iberostar properties, which JOIA guests can also visit during their stay.
Room choices range from swim-out suites to a Presidential Suite
Accommodation choices span four floors and include garden-view, ocean-view, oceanfront and swim-out categories. Each room is a suite, with a private balcony or terrace and either a king bed or two beds, depending on the category.
Swim-out suites provide direct water access from the terrace. At the top end, the Presidential Suite adds a living room and kitchenette.
Selected categories retain butler service, while the wider room offering includes concierge assistance, pillow menus, aromatherapy and turndown service. The terraces are also being redesigned as a larger part of the accommodation experience.
New dining concepts extend from embers to a French brasserie
The revised restaurant collection combines contemporary Jamaican cooking with international menus, including Southeast Asian flavours and French brasserie dishes. Gaia will centre on food cooked over embers, while Chez Charlie will serve French-inspired fare.
The Huddle will provide a more casual, sports-bar-style setting. These venues join multiple restaurants and bars across the property, with Jamaica taking a more prominent place in the overall dining programme.
Outside, the renewed pool and beach areas will offer poolside service, a swim-up bar and personal concierge support. The spa has wet areas and an infinity pool.
What the Montego Bay resort includes beyond the room
The all-inclusive rate covers meals, drinks, selected activities and access to facilities at the two neighbouring Iberostar hotels. Buffet dining, unlimited specialty-restaurant dinners, snacks, domestic and international beverages, and a minibar replenished daily are included.
Room service operates 24 hours a day, with breakfast available in the suite. Guests also receive access to the spa’s hydrotherapy area, daily entertainment and sports programmes, live music and shows.
Non-motorised water sports are available for up to one hour each day. The choices include kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing and Hobie Cat sailing.
Guests can also use restaurants and facilities at Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites and Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach. The arrangement gives adults a quieter home base while expanding the number of dining and leisure options available within the complex.
The airport and Rose Hall attractions remain nearby
JOIA Rose Hall sits about 11 miles from Sangster International Airport, keeping the road transfer relatively short after arrival in Montego Bay. The resort is east of the city rather than in its central hotel districts.
Cinnamon Hill Golf Course and the historic Rose Hall Great House are both within a short drive. Golf is not listed as part of the all-inclusive plan.
The reopening promotion is available until Nov. 30
Travellers have until Nov. 30, 2026, to reserve Iberostar’s current reopening offer, subject to its terms and available inventory. The promotion applies to eligible stays from Dec. 1, 2026, through Oct. 31, 2027.
The package includes an extra 10% discount on the prepaid rate, private airport transfers and up to $800 in resort credit. Iberostar is also advertising broader discounts of up to 40%, although the final price depends on travel dates and suite category.
The company’s US booking site is currently displaying rates from $859 per room per night. Travellers considering the promotion should compare the final prepaid total, cancellation conditions, room category and resort-credit terms before booking.
