IHG Hotels & Resorts and Kleek Development have agreed to develop Crowne Plaza New Cairo in Sixth Settlement, with an opening planned for the first quarter of 2031. The hotel is intended to serve business and leisure guests in East Cairo’s growing commercial and residential districts.
IHG signed the management agreement on October 12, 2026. Kleek Development is a joint venture between Emaar Al Delta for Contracting and Real Estate Investment and Modern Style Home Real Estate Company.
What guests can expect at Crowne Plaza New Cairo
The planned 250-room hotel will combine accommodation with dining, wellness, meeting and retail facilities.
- Four food and drink venues, including an all-day restaurant, a lobby lounge and a bar
- Six meeting and event spaces, including meeting rooms and a dedicated ballroom
- A swimming pool, fitness centre and spa
- Retail spaces within the property
The room inventory will include both guest rooms and suites. IHG also plans to introduce two Crowne Plaza concepts designed to separate work from rest during a stay.
The Plaza Workspace will provide dedicated areas for personal and professional tasks. WorkLife Rooms will divide the guest room into distinct zones for working, relaxing and sleeping.
A mixed-use setting serving East Cairo
The hotel will stand in a mixed-use corridor intended to serve nearby business, commercial and residential communities.
Sixth Settlement forms part of New Cairo, where infrastructure investment and population growth have increased demand from domestic and international companies. The location gives the property a potential customer base beyond overnight leisure visitors, including meeting delegates and people travelling for business.
The ballroom, meeting rooms and flexible work areas reflect that emphasis. Leisure facilities such as the pool and spa will support guests who want downtime without leaving the hotel.
IHG continues to expand its Egypt portfolio
IHG currently operates 10 hotels in Egypt and has another 28 properties in its development pipeline.
The New Cairo agreement adds another planned property under Crowne Plaza, IHG’s brand aimed at travellers combining business, meetings and leisure. The hotel will be managed by IHG under its agreement with Kleek Development.
