The Breeze Airways fleet is now made up entirely of Airbus A220 aircraft after the US low-cost carrier retired its final Embraer E-Jets. As of September 10, 2026, the completed withdrawal leaves Breeze operating a single aircraft family.

A single aircraft family narrows operational complexity
An airline using one aircraft family can organize pilot training, maintenance and spare-parts planning around a common platform.
Aircraft families share core design and support requirements, although individual planes can still have different seating or cabin configurations. Breeze did not give a reason for retiring the E-Jets in its announcement.
Fleet standardization also does not automatically indicate changes to routes, schedules or fares. The confirmed change concerns the aircraft Breeze operates.
What passengers should expect on future flights
Travellers booking Breeze can now expect the A220 to be the aircraft family used across the carrier’s own operation.
Aircraft assignments can still change for operational reasons, so passengers who care about the plane or seat layout should check their flight details and seat map near departure. There is no later E-Jet retirement date to watch because Breeze says the process is complete.
