Six Bergkristall mountain suites have opened at Hotel Bergkristall in Germany’s Allgäu region and have been bookable since mid-August. The addition targets guests seeking private wellness and recovery facilities alongside full resort services.
What guests get inside the Bergkristall mountain suites
Each unit provides about 861 square feet (80 square metres) of space, with separate living and sleeping areas, a kitchenette and floor-to-ceiling windows.
A private terrace holds a sauna and whirlpool bath, creating a personal spa area outside the main accommodation. Wood, natural materials and muted colours shape the interiors, while large windows frame the surrounding Allgäu landscape in southern Germany.
The new rooms sit above the lake suites that opened in April. Their design places greater emphasis on privacy, movement and rest, reflecting host Johannes Lingg’s view that luxury should help guests regain a sense of balance.
Recovery equipment goes beyond standard hotel fitness
Every suite has a dedicated recovery area equipped with Blackroll exercise and massage products.

- Special pillows and blankets for sleep
The equipment allows guests to exercise or work on post-activity recovery without visiting the resort gym. That may appeal particularly to travellers planning hiking and other outdoor activities in the Alpine surroundings, as well as those who prefer to train privately.
Stube 3 serves suite guests throughout the day
The newly opened Stube 3 restaurant has about 30 seats and primarily serves guests staying in the mountain and lake categories.
In the morning, diners can order breakfast à la carte or have a breakfast basket delivered to their accommodation. The restaurant switches to pâtisserie in the afternoon, followed by a lighter evening menu.
Dinner choices include individual dishes, food designed for sharing and menus assembled around a guest’s preferences. The format gives suite residents an alternative to eating in their room while keeping the dining area relatively small.
The resort’s largest expansion is now complete
The latest rooms and Stube 3 complete the property’s Bergkristall Next Level project, described by the resort as its most extensive expansion so far.
The programme created 12 lake and mountain suites in total. It also included the 2025 enlargement of the wellness area to about 39,800 square feet (3,700 square metres), along with additional spa and relaxation spaces.
A gym spread across two floors and a separate yoga studio were also added. Alpstein and the Lingg host family collaborated on the public areas and new accommodation.
What travellers should consider before booking
The rooms are already available to reserve, so travellers do not need to wait for a later opening date. The mountain category is the relevant choice for guests who specifically want an outdoor sauna, whirlpool bath and recovery equipment within their accommodation.
Hotel Bergkristall has not disclosed suite rates. Travellers should therefore check the current price and included services before booking, particularly if in-suite breakfast or access to Stube 3 forms part of their plans.
